Pile-Driver Operator

A Pile-Driver Operator hammers piles that support building foundations, bridges and piers. They control machines with pedals and levers to hammer piles into the ground for construction, oil and other industry. As a Pile-Driver Operator, one usually starts working with smaller machines. Post that, they are trained on managing larger equipment.

1.Pre-operational checking on equipment to ensure proper functioning
2.Maintaining and operating heavy-duty construction equipments or tools including cleaning, refilling lubricates, etc
3.Driving pilling to provide support for building or other structures
4.Inspecting equipments or tools to identify cause of errors or other problems or defects

Initially you will join as a trainee operator. After getting few years or experience you can become Operating Engineer. Post that, you can manage all the operations and eventually progress to becoming the Operations Head.

Physical coordination skills

One should have ability and physical coordination to operate heavy and complex machinery. They will control the machine for breaking big and strong material such as concrete.

Communication Skills

Decent communication skills are important because taking and giving direction is another aspect of this job. They communicate with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates on the present work status.

Critical thinking Skills

Unexpected situations might arise in this job. One may face the problem of machine not working or changing tools. One should be prepared with solutions when something unexpected happens.

The average starting is Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 18,000 per month.

There is no specific qualification required. One can also get into this profession without a high school or PUC degree. One may pursue operating training from trade or vocational schools.
