Telemarketing

Telemarketing is predominantly a sales role where sales are generated over the phone. Sales can either be generated through calling people (outbound calls) or answering calls from people (inbound calls). There are several openings for telemarketing role across most companies. This is especially good for people who are perseverant, and enjoy talking to people.

1.Cold-calling people on the phone and explaining to them about the product or service
2.Answering incoming calls of people and explaining to them about the product or service
3.Selling products or services basis what the customers require
4.Recording of customer data on a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
5.Resolution of queries or issues that a customer may be facing
6.Following up with customers as and when planned

From a telemarketer, one can become a team leader. One can also progress to becoming the head of a BPO center, eventually progressing to heading the head of a Customer support team.

Client Management

Telemarketing is all about interacting with the client. One has to come across as personable and be genuinely interesting in helping the customer.

Communication

The client will always have less time. In this short span of time, you have to sell the product or service effectively and efficiently.

Perseverance

Clients may not always answer calls or give time to your calls. It is important to persevere, and continue doing your calls since that is the only way you can be successful at your work.

Average salary for a fresher would be between Rs. 85,000 to 1,50,000 per annum. Besides that, you can also earn incentives basis your performance.

10th pass is minimum in order to become a Telemarketer. Some roles also required a candidate to have completed PUC.
