Teacher (Education)

The teaching profession is considered as one of the most respectable professions. One can become a teacher at different institutions - Schools, PUs, Colleges, Universities and so on. Each level requires a different level of knowledge. Teachers always play a substantial role in student?s life and will make sure that their lives are worthy. The demand for good teachers is very high, at both the public institutional level and at the private level.

1. Help students learn and apply the concepts of their academics.

2. Plan and prepare for the lessons in such a way that every student understands the topics.

3. Have a passion for exchanging ideas irrespective of the level in which they are.

4. Be a constant positive role model for students at every level

5. Counsel students in such a way that they know how to use their knowledge and integrate it into their lives.

6. Teachers will take right decisions and adapt learning methods to challenge and inspire the students.

7. Teachers will assess and evaluate the student?s ability and prepare them for examinations which will be held at regular intervals.

8. Teachers in higher designations will prepare rosters for class timings and plan the distribution of work among the others.

9. Professors in colleges and Universities will also plan field trips and co-ordinate with students.

Recruitment in teaching profession is done in different ways for different levels. At school level, a teacher is required to pursue B.Ed. and then should clear the written test held by the head of the school. Once the written test is cleared, then will be required to attend a face to face interview. At colleges and University level, a Post-Graduation is required and a PhD. will help further. At this level, the candidate has to apply if there are vacancies and should give teaching demonstrations on theoretical and derivative subjects.

Problem Solving:
Complex problem solving skills are required for a teacher in order to figure out the nature of the student and get the best out of him/her. Organizational Skills: You should have great patience to handle a lot of students in one class.

Communication Skills:
A teacher must possess good oratory skills and should be a good public speaker so that everyone in the class understand clearly what he/she is explaining.

Decision Making Skills:
Quick decision making skills are required for a teacher in order to plan and co-ordinate with the students in time.

The average salary for a private school teacher is Rs. 15000 to Rs. 30000 without grade pay, but when you would be in probation period your salary would be on average Rs. 5000 to Rs. 15000 which is fixed.

For PU College, salary range is Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 33,000 per month but the salary will go upto Rs. 60,000 per month as you gain experience.

As a teacher, you will be for probation period for two years under trainee teacher, when you add a range of professional experience and develop the talent to succeed for other different roles, you will become head teacher or Vice Principal. Perhaps, if you wish to become professor to work in college or university, then you have to attend state label or National level exam like NET, SLET or so, along with your master?s or PhD degree.
