Marketing Manager

A Marketing Manager, builds an awareness by developing and executing on marketing strategies to meet the customer needs. As a marketing manager, you will be responsible to generate business for the company by selling products or services. Besides that, you will manage and develop promotional activities and create brand awareness. As a marketing person, you will bring products and consumers together.

1.Creating and developing business action plans to determine when, how, where and by whom the marketing activities - sales forecast, advertisement, sales promotion, distribution of products, etc. - should be carried out.
2.Managing and deploying various marketing campaigns to promote your company products or services through different media, including radio, print or online platforms.
3.Gathering customer and market insights for outreach strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate more qualified leads.
4.Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients.
5.Building and expanding brand awareness and positioning through various marketing activities.
6.Gather the results of market research and decide the future course of action for the product or service.
7.Give key strategic inputs on the quantity and quality of production.
8.Sale forecasting, product planning and price fixation.
9.Supporting and generating new business leads and educate customers regarding alternative uses of products.

To become a Marketing Manager, key education requirement is a Graduate with any specialization. Initially, you will join at an executive position and after holding few years of experience you can become marketing manager. However, some companies also offer marketing manager position to freshers, only when they have top institutional degree or higher education with marketing as a specialization.

Critical thinking skills:
You should have the ability to analyse situations or statements, assess problems and devise solutions.

Communication and Interpersonal skills:
You should have interpersonal skills to solve the customers and companies problems to the benefit of all. You should generate trust and confidence towards building successful relationships with customers or clients.

Teamwork skills:
This is one of the most important skills required, because you must be able to collaborate with others, not only in marketing but across the company as well. You will work with public relations and advertising team as well to expand awareness about the companys products.

Negotiation skills:
This is another important skill required. You will negotiate with clients on budgets, timeline and expectations. You should have ability to drive a hard bargain.

Stress Management skills:
Deadlines are demanding! And you may have to work till the last minute to reach your deadline of filling a customer demand or your business target.

The average salary Rs. 25,000 to 45,000 per month. With experience of 5-7 years, this will rise to above Rs 60,000. Apart from that, performance-based incentives will also be a key component of your monthly income.

After holding few years of experience you can become director of marketing, VP of marketing and/ or chief marketing officer.
